Not Your Granddad’s Harley
When we think of motorbikes, we think of the big names – Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Harley Davidson.
Founded in 1903, Harley Davidson has long been considered the most appealing brand of bike. With its rugged look and throbbing engines, you watch in awe and splendour whenever a Harley Davidson passes you in the street. Launching in 2020, the marquee brand promises to put out its first adventure touring bike, the Pan America 1250cc. Harley Davidson hopes that the arrival of this motorcycle will increase the new rider interest by two million by 2027.
From what Harley Davidson has announced about the bike so far, it looks like it’s going to be smaller and more lightweight than previous models. With a monochromatic colour scheme, it’s going to be a looker too. A 1250cc, DOHC, 60 degree V-twin engine will hopefully cut down the weight of the current bikes on offer too. The Pan America will most probably get fitted on with Michelin Anakee Wild tyres so it’ll have a good traction on off-road terrain. It’ll also feature ‘advanced technology’, according to the company, which will hopefully add to the riding experience. The Harley Davidson Pan America 1250cc is going to be entering a very wide market by 2020, but hopefully, with advancements in technology ever-changing, it’ll be a welcomed addition.
