Sean Connery: Saying Goodbye To A Legend

He was a legend of the silver screen and was infused with the very essence of charisma.
While we may be saying goodbye to the legendary Sean Connery, it does not mean we will ever forget what he did for cinema history.

Coming to write this, I did not expect to feel the well of emotion that crept up on me as I started writing. Sean, even after falling out of the limelight these last couple years, has always enjoyed regular mentions in M2 whenever Bond season comes rolling around. He casts a long shadow which has fallen on every actor that has taken up the mantle. In many ways, he represents a lot of what we like to idolise as an archetypical M2 man.

Of course, Sean Connery was also a complex human being and not just a cardboard cutout of machismo. With that he had failings, like all of us, and has fallen in and out of favour for the things he did as an actor and also as a private citizen and husband over the years.

Maybe that should act as a reminder to us that no matter how far we go in life, we can always do better.
