Lamborghini has revealed two special edition vehicles, the Invencible Coupe and Auténtica Roadster car as a farewell to Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated V12 engine and the Aventador platform. They are the final examples of a breed of supercars that are becoming increasingly rare in today’s market. For enthusiasts who appreciate the power and sound of a naturally aspirated V12 engine, the Invencible Coupe and Auténtica Roadster are the perfect way to celebrate the end of an era.
The Invencible Coupe and Auténtica Roadster are powered by the same 769-horsepower 6.5-litre V12 engine as the Aventador Ultimae. This engine produces 531 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a seven-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission. The transmission sends power to all four wheels to maximise traction and control. The vehicles also feature rear-wheel steering, which provides improved handling and agility.
Both the Invencible Coupe and Auténtica Roadster are built on the Aventador’s carbon fibre monocoque chassis. This provides a lightweight and extremely rigid structure that contributes to the vehicles’ excellent handling and performance. The bodywork of the vehicles is entirely made of carbon fiber and features unique aerodynamic features and hexagonal design cues.
The Invencible Coupe is finished in a vivid red color, called Rosso Efesto, with red brake calipers and red interior accents to match. The scissor doors are adorned with hexagonal representations of the Italian flag. The Auténtica Roadster, on the other hand, features Grigio Titans bodywork accented by matte black and a yellow hue called Giallo Auge, echoed by the brakes and interior stitching.
The interior of the Invencible Coupe and Auténtica Roadster features a revised center console design that does not include a touchscreen. Instead, the vehicles are equipped with a digital gauge cluster that displays unique graphics. Carbon fiber is visible on the doors and center console, and the climate control vents are hexagons, a recurring design element in Lamborghini vehicles.
Despite being based on an aging platform, the Invencible Coupe and Auténtica Roadster offer a unique driving experience that is sure to appeal to Lamborghini enthusiasts. The naturally aspirated V12 engine provides a visceral driving experience that is not often found in modern vehicles.
