The Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Officially Dropped And Everybody is Losing Their Mind
The hype for No Way Home has been building for a while off the back of the news that cast members from the previous Sony released entries of Spider-Man would be making a reappearance. If you wanted no spoilers in your life, then you’ve already come to far, otherwise you can check out the trailer below.
The trailer reveals that Alfred Molina will be reprising his role as Doc Oc, last seen in 2004’s Spider-Man 2 with Tobey Maguire. Jamie Foxx is also confirmed to be re-emerging as Elektro, from Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. While the two other Spider-Men (Spider-Mans?) didn’t show up in the trailer, fans are pretty convinced they’ll be making an appearance.
Last year, Collider reported that Maguire was in talks to return to the franchise alongside his Spider-Man’s love interest, Kirsten Dunst.
These talks have been denied pretty strongly by PR, and Tom Holland even told Jimmy Fallon regarding multiple returns, “It would be amazing if they were because they haven’t told me that yet and I am Spider-Man and I’ve read the script from the beginning to the end. So it would be a miracle if they could keep that from me.”
Personally, the big question for me is, can they make a Spider-Man movie better than Into The Spider-verse, which has essentially beaten No Way Home to the punch when it comes to multiverses bleeding into each other to allow multiple Spider-Men onscreen. They’ve definitely got the budget, the star-power, and the hype. But do they have the artistic flair? I guess that’s what I’ll be paying to find out on December 26th, lockdowns willing.
