Top 10 SEO Tips For A Successful 2021
Q. Where is the best place to hide a dead body?
A. Page 2 of Google
Now more than ever, digital has become the primary marketing tactic for New Zealand businesses. There has been a huge jump in digital adoption and engagement. At Pure SEO our customers have benefitted hugely from the shift to online – primarily through Google, YouTube and social channels.
The Pure SEO data analysts and our Head of Product have spent the past three months looking into what is currently working and what we believe will work well in 2021. Together we have distilled our research into the top 10 actionable SEO tips (not in any order):
1. Meta Descriptions – This is the sentence you see in the search results under the clickable link. Write unique meta descriptions for every page of the website ensuring the text is compelling enough that the searcher wants to click and see more.
2. Long form content – Write long, interesting content that looks at a specific topic that is interesting to your audience. Long form content has been shown to generate more organic sharing and inbound links.
3. Core Web Vitals – This is going to be key for 2021 and will become a ranking factor this year. Key web vitals to improve are website loading speed and page experience. In other words, make your website fast and an awesome experience for users.
4. Be the last click – Google really wants you to give users what they are looking for. The best way to do that is make your content or information so good that you are the final (and hopefully first) click in their search for information.
5. Top Content – Look in Google Analytics and identify your most popular pieces of content from last year. Once you have done that, refresh the content, make sure all the links are up to date and then relaunch it.
6. Mobile – Look at and optimise the mobile experience of your website. More and more people browse and buy on mobile devices. Make it quick, informative, and really easy to use.
7. Meta Title Tag – Make sure you have a unique, keyword rich title tag on every page of the website. Where appropriate, it can be beneficial to include dates in your title.
8. Schema – Schema gives website owners the ability to have much bigger search results at no extra cost. Implement schema on your website, especially FAQ and how-to schema.
9. Topic Clusters – Rather than write one piece of content for one topic, think about clusters of interrelated topics that can form different (cross linked) pieces of content.
10. Localisation – Make sure your local SEO is top notch. Ensure your Google My Business listing is completed properly and that you have lots of honest, good quality customer reviews.
At Pure SEO, we are consistently analysing the data and evolving our strategy to ensure our clients stay top of Google. Whilst the algorithm is always changing, utilising these 10 SEO tips will give you a competitive advantage online in 2021.
