Auckland Whisky Enthusiasts Shouldn’t Miss The Macallan Harmony II Experience
The Macallan are bringing their latest creation to New Zealand shores, but before they do, they’re offering limited spots in an exclusive experience for those wanting to try it for themselves before it hits Kiwi shelves. If you consider yourself an aficionado of the dram, then you’re going to want to put this event on your calendar.
The Macallan have been busy crafting an incredibly unique single malt scotch. The Harmony Collection started last year with a special collaborations with chocolatiers all over the world to develop a scotch that both pairs and captures the spirit of cocoa with their Rich Cacao Single Malt Whisky with a palette of dark chocolate, honey, dates, vanilla and cinnamon. This year they’re broadening the collection with a whisky that stands alongside everyone’s second favourite beverage – coffee. There are two, crafted for specific moods. The first is Intense Arabica (44% ABV) and the other is Smooth Arabica (40% ABV). Smooth conveys the flavours of a gently spiced and soft americano, while the Intense Arabica is reminiscent of a sweet yet strong espresso coffee.
We go into it in more detail in our recent review but suffice to say it’s an experience all on its own, and not one that words can do justice to. The journey through The Macallan Harmony II Arabica Garden experience on the other hand might just be able to.
The event itself is about an hour and is located at Space on Crummer in Grey Lynn, Auckland. Sessions run at 3:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:00pm, 7:30pm from the 15th to the 18th of March.
The Macallan are teaming up with local coffee partners Ozone Coffee Roasters to enrich the senses of your palette in what is both an educational session and a sensory experience. After the session is over, each guest recieves The Macallan Harmony II guest gift pack, which includes a bottle of The Macallan Harmony, inspired by Intense Arabica and a serving ritual kit.
