Apple Just Announced a Polishing Cloth with Backwards Compatibility, And It Sold Out
Apple just had it’s latest press conference announcing all its new big offerings. But all of the new Macbooks or whatever cannot compare to their most ground breaking release to date. Hold your breath, exhale. It’s a polishing cloth for $19 Made with soft, nonabrasive material. They promise that the Polishing Cloth cleans any Apple display, including nano-texture glass, safely and effectively. On their official page they list everything it’s compatible with, which appears to be just about everything. I don’t know how they managed to make an accessory so widely compatible, but it’s incredible and just goes to show that Apple still have the magic.
Really I’m not even joking, they still have the magic. Upon its release and announcement, it immediately got sold out until Christmas. If you want to cut the queue you can get the Pro Display XDR for $6,000 which comes bundled with the cloth. The Pro Display comes with Nano-textured glass and Apple warns that “To remove dust or smudges from the nano-texture glass screen, use only the polishing cloth that came with your Pro Display XDR or iMac.”
It is as yet untested and unclear whether using a third party cloth would void any Apple warranties, but what sort of animal would dare use micro-fibre clothes made by plebeian third parties. I bet they don’t even have an Apple logo embossed in the corner.
Among its other announcements, Apple announced a new generation of Airpods with spatial audio, new MacBook Pros that come with that awesome MagSafe magnetic charger and a 120Hz refresh rate, and new custom chips the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
