Why You Need To Read Our Latest Issue
A brand new issue of M2 Magazine has hit the shelves and while we don’t like to blow our own trumpet, the July/August issue contains some outstanding features on some big names in the world of entertainment, art and food. Here’s just a sneak peek at what’s on offer.
Our cover star for the M2 July/August issue is none other than one of Hollywood’s finest, English actor Tom Hiddleston. Hiddleston has become one of the industry’s most recognisable stars, thanks in large part to his recurring role as Loki in the entertainment juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While to this point Loki has mostly been a supporting player in the Avengers and Thor franchises, 2021 marks Hiddleston’s moment in the Marvel spotlight, as he will reprise the role, as the lead in an original series aptly titled Loki. In our feature, Hiddleston talks about his personal love for the character, his experience working alongside Owen Wilson and gives us an inside preview of what to expect from the much-anticipated series.
But this issue is far from a one-man show. Sticking with the world of entertainment, we’ve got a fantastic feature with actor Matthew Horne. Horne has established himself as one of Britain’s most consistent comedy actors, breaking into the mainstream conscious in the late 00’s with his lead role one of this century’s most beloved comedy series, Gavin & Stacey. More recently, Horne has been drawing plaudits for his role as the high-strung detective Roy Silver in the comedy-drama series Agatha Raisin. He opens up about his artistic and creative inspirations, his dream acting role and what fans can expect from the upcoming fourth season of Agatha Raisin.
Elsewhere, we once again highlight the incredible work of photographer Jonk with fascinating images from his latest work, Naturalia II. The award-winning Frenchman is a favourite here at M2 and we previously featured his work photographing ruins in the former Soviet Union. This time, we spotlight Jonk’s Naturalia II, a fantastic collection which focuses on locations where humans have built, only to abandon, and how the natural environment has reclaimed them.
Bringing the focus back home, we’ve got a great feature on one of Auckland’s most acclaimed restaurants, The Grove, and its head chef Ryan Moore. A longtime stalwart of the city’s fine dining scene, The Grove has developed a standing as one of New Zealand’s true standouts on an international level and Moore has been more than up to the challenge of maintaining that sparkling reputation in the 18 months he has been at the helm. He shares with us his lifelong passion for food, how his personal flair has influenced The Grove’s menu and how the restaurant handled the challenges that COVID has brought to the hospitality industry.
Diving into the business world, this issue also includes a feature with Managing Director and SEO expert Gregor Jamieson of Digital Popcorn. Jamieson’s company works with business clients in helping them achieve greater levels of market exposure and visibility online through developing SEO strategies. He provides insight into how the approach differs between SME and enterprise-level businesses, how his company breaks down the data to offer insight to clients beyond just statistics and how he believes COVID has changed the way consumers engage with businesses online.
Finally, M2’s own Isaac Taylor gives you a tongue-in-cheek (but also very accurate) breakdown of every way which you can get yourself ‘cancelled’ in the modern day. There’s some tricky territory to navigate out there in the world right now, so if you don’t want to end up shamed at the family dinner table, in your workplace or on your local Facebook group for being ‘problematic’, this is the guide for you.
